Wenge Xu | 徐温格

I'm a Senior Lecturer in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) based within the HCI Research Centre , Birmingham City University. My university profile page can be found here.


I obtained my PhD degree in 2021 from University of Liverpool, where I was supervised by Prof Hai-Ning Liang. Currently, my main research interests are around HCI, current interests are VR Accessibility (hands-free interaction, controller-free interaction, features for disability/inclusivity), external human-machine interface, AR for everyday task (see my Google Scholar Profile for citation details or check out my Publication Page to access each paper). My research mainly focuses on (1) understanding human factors of people interacting with emerging technologies and, (2) designing interaction for people interact with emerging devices.


Current projects are: (1) Inclusive eHMI for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing people (Royal Society-funded) and (2) Inclusive VR games for Deaf people (PhD student where I supervise as primary supervisor).
